Thank you for your interest in Crown’s Scenic City Rally! We’re so excited to have you join us for a day of scenic driving, teamwork, and community spirit — all for a great cause.

Event Details
Starting Location: Food City Parking Lot
Address: 703 Signal Mountain Rd, Chattanooga, TN 37405 Route: North of Chattanooga — all paved roads with beautiful views and plenty of adventure.

What Is a TSD Rally?
TSD stands for Time-Speed-Distance, but don’t worry — this isn’t a math test or a race! You and your teammate (driver + navigator) will follow a set of written route instructions and try to arrive at hidden checkpoints as close to “on time” as possible.
You’ll drive at or below the posted speed limits the entire time. The key is staying on course, paying attention, and working together.
All timing and scoring will be handled automatically through the Richta Competitor App, which you’ll need to download on your Apple or Android device before the event.

Rally Training Sessions
To make sure everyone feels confident and ready, we’re offering three virtual training sessions before the event. You’ll learn how the rally works, how to use the Richta app, and have time to ask any questions.
You only need to attend one session — just pick the time that works best for you:

Session 1: November 13th, 6:00 PM
Session 2: November 14th, 6:00 PM
Session 3: November 15th, 3:00 PM

If you absolutely can’t make it to a live session, we’ll send you a video recording of one to watch before the event. Watching it is recommended if you miss the live session.

Rally for a Cause
All proceeds from the Scenic City Rally will benefit the Partnership for Families, Children and Adults, a local organization providing essential services including domestic violence support, deaf services, and crisis intervention.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this a race?

No, this is a Time-Speed-Distance (TSD) Rally. It's a precision-based competition where a driver and navigator must stay on a specific route over many miles and go through checkpoints at set times. It's not about being the fastest, it's about arriving to a precise location as accurarely as possible.

How does it work?

A route book will give you the prescribed speed at any given mileage and where to travel during the event. IT's up to you and your navigator to figure out the timing of it all.

Do I have to have a racecar to have a good time?

This rally is being held on public roads and at or below posted speed limits. This means you don't necessarily need a fast vehicle. A Ford F-150 and a Ferrari F40, could, should and would have an equal chance of winning.

How do you know how accurately we are driving the route?

We are using an app called Richta Competitor that will track your location and calculate how closely you are following the route book you are given. It will automatically score you and place you against the other competitors. Download it before the event!
